Learn how to enable Apple Pay as a payment option for International customers using the Pine Labs Online payment gateway.

Apple Pay

Apple Pay is a secure, contactless payment method that allows customers to pay using their Apple devices with biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID).

Once Apple Pay is enabled and integrated, it appears on your Checkout page as a payment option—offering a fast, frictionless checkout experience for international customers (currently available for international users only).

Customer Visibility

Apple Pay will appear as an available payment option only when the customer meets all of the following conditions:

Compatible Device & Browser

Uses a compatible device and browser. Refer to our Compatible Device documentation to learn more.

Supported Region

Is located in a supported region. Refer to Apple Pay Supported Region documentation to learn more.

Eligible Card Added

Has added an eligible card to their Apple Wallet. Refer to Apple Pay Eligible Card documentation to learn more.

Note:

  • Currently, only Visa and Mastercard card networks are supported.

How Apple Pay Works — Demonstration
  1. Customer Selects Apple Pay at Checkout: The Apple Pay button appears only if the payment method is supported in the customer’s region and they have at least one card added to Apple Wallet.
  2. Apple Pay Displays Available Cards: The customer sees their default card along with any additional cards stored in Apple Pay. They can choose the card they wish to use.
  3. Customer Authenticates the Payment: The customer authenticates the transaction using Face ID, Touch ID, or by double-clicking the side button.
  4. Payment is Completed Instantly: After successful authentication, the payment is processed immediately, and the customer is redirected back to your website or app with a confirmation message.

For Non-Safari Browsers:

  • If the customer is not using Safari, a QR code will be displayed. They can scan this code with an Apple device to complete the payment through Apple Pay.

Display the Apple Pay brand mark in the payment methods section of your website to indicate support before checkout.
